A little behind
Welcome back!
After the events of our week before Christmas and now the extended break, I'm sure that most of you are happy to be back to the routine. I had a great break myself, but it was spent in snow, cloudy days and 20 degree weather. I was more than a little happy to step off the plane here in Tulsa and be a little warm in my hat, gloves, sweater and winter coat.
As you walk around campus, you can still see many signs of the storm. We're very happy to have campus up and running again, and special thanks to all those who offered to help and came out to take care of our issues. We were very fortunate that we didn't damage any of our buildings and we had enough money within our budget to cover the cost of the tree removal.
Hopefully you all enjoyed the notifications over the break. I must admit that I never envisioned us using it so quickly, but I'm very happy that we had it ready to go. It's a program that we will definitely continue in the future; as we continue to learn to use it, we'll be able to target specific groups with notices about other cancellations, changes and announcements.
So now it's 2008, and time to start part two of our year. Part one ended with quite a bang, but we made it through and I'm excited about where we go from here.
