The best of intentions...
So I guess I'm still having a little trouble getting these updates in - hopefully you can forgive me; it really is because we have so many wonderful things going on, and this in turn often makes it difficult to talk about all of them.
But anyway, onward and upward. The middle school library is functional at this point. We still have two to three purchases to make in order to make the space a little more inviting, but soon your students will have every opportunity to read and grow within its walls. The best part about this situation is that it is really allowing us time to evaluate our K - 5 library as well, and we have made and will continue to make significant changes to it as we continue throughout the year.
At this point the middle school library consists of more than 3,000 volumes and close to $50,000 worth of new books - all made possible by your donations at our auction last school year. We built the library big - we can actually triple the number of books that we now have - and I fully intent to do so over the course of the next five years. As we do this, the school will continue to commit an increased budget number, but your donations will always be greatly appreciated.
Check back here to see photos as soon as the bulk of the furniture arrives, and check back soon for more updates on the changes to the Wednesday packet.
As always, I'd be more than happy to take you around and show you the improvements and all the wonderful things that we have going on.
