Batting 1.000

Sorry for the long absence in posts - things have been busy, but there have been plenty of wonderful things to talk about.

First, our academic bowl teams demonstrated the Pius spirit at every level. Our 5th and 6th grade team took first place in area, the highest level at which they could achieve. This means that they beat every other team in our general location - public schools, charter schools and other Catholic schools.

Our 7th and 8th grade team completed the sweep by going a perfect 21 - 0 this season. They were the only undefeated team in the state and won the state title going away - their closest contest was decided by 80 points. Furthermore, we had the top individual performer in the state. I wish that I could list all of the names of our successful students, but as this is the internet and safety is always a concern, I will refrain. With that said, I am extremely proud of all of our participants and I want to extend to you all my congratulations and thanks for what you have accomplished in the name of Saint Pius X School.

If that wasn't enough, our Mathcounts team also swept districts and sent a number of students to further competition. Seven of the top ten students were from Saint Pius, including the first place finisher in sixth grade and eighth grade and the second place finisher in seventh grade. These successes are just another indicator that we are truly on the right track for the future.
